Dr. Douglas Evans was born January 21, 1959 in Kankakee, Illinois. At age 5 his family moved to Swaziland, Africa. After finishing high school he returned to the United States to attend college. He graduated from Bethany Nazarene College, in Bethany Oklahoma. He attended medical school at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his internship at Doctor's Hospital in Groves, Texas.

After working in general practice and emergency medicine for two years, he returned to Tulsa and completed his pediatric residency at Oklahoma University College of Medicine in 1995. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians, and The American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Evans has been in Practice in St. Joseph since 1996.
